Michael Radford is an artist living and working in London, England. His practice uses photography, text, design and re-appropriation to examine and interrogate the display of images and objects in the sphere of architecture, printed-matter, and public space. His large-scale works often use strategies taken from his professional background; publishing, advertising and state-propaganda.
In 2013, on completion of his BA Honours in Photography and Video Art from the University of Bedfordshire School of Art and Design, he was awarded a year-long scholarship at FABRICA, Benetton’s creative research centre in Treviso, Italy. The work from his residency was nominated for the Magnum and London Photo Graduate Award and won the Daniel Blau Gallery 5 Under 30 Award. In 2019, he enrolled onto Concordia University MFA programme in Studio Arts on a full scholarship and won the Concordia University Out-of-Province Award. In 2020 he was awarded Concordia University Fine Arts Graduate Travel Grant. In Winter 2024 he will complete his MFA under the guidance of Geneviève Cadieux. His debut artist monograph, CRASH, published by Edition Taube, Munich launches in March 2024.
